"Spiritual Guidance"
Rev. Sharon Nelson Arendshorst

The Reverend Sharon Nelson Arendshorst was born in Geneva, Illinois, and formed a ecumenical faith perspective from frequent family moves. Upon graduation from DePauw University with a BA in elementary education, Sharon married Tom Arendshorst. She taught third and fourth grades in three different states before their two sons, Christopher and Michael, were born. Sharon received a Masters in Education with an emphasis in counseling from Lewis and Clark College before moving to Holland Michigan in 1977. When Tom and Sharon's sons were young, Sharon worked as a community volunteer and was active in Third Reformed Church of Holland. Sharon graduated from Western Theological Seminary in 1996 with her Masters of Divinity degree. She has served four RCA churches since graduation and is currently serving Maplewood Reformed Church in Holland as a Specialized Interim Minister.
In addition to her work in churches, Sharon has been privileged to be a spiritual companion for several individuals, including artist Liz DeBraber. Sharon seeks to be attentive to God's presence and the leading of the Holy Spirit as she accompanies others and serves churches on their spiritual journeys.
